Programs

Bega participates in a number of programs aimed at monitoring environmental impacts and improving environmental performance.

Environment Protection Agency (EPA)

Bega is licensed by the Environment Protection Authority to operate it businesses within certain limits.  It also outlines pollution reduction programs that apply to the business. Australian Packaging Covenant

The packaging covenant requires businesses to apply sustainable packaging principles to their packaging design to minimise resource use, increase recycling and reduce litter.  Bega is a voluntary signatory to the covenant and submits an action plan outlining plans to improve packaging sustainability and an annual report documenting progress.

National Pollutant Inventory  (NPI)

The National Pollutant Inventory is Australia’s public database of pollutant emissions.  Bega reports the types and amounts of pollution generated from consuming electricity, burning gas, fossil fuels and producing waste.  The government uses this to inform the public, develop policies and monitor environmental health.  For more information visit  www.npi.gov.au
