Sustainability

For generations, we have been in the hearts of every Australian. That is a heritage we are proud of, and it is a legacy that will endure.

From abundant natural resources to a thriving agricultural industry, we are aiming for a future that is greater through sustainability. So we can keep nourishing and nurturing not just Australians but Australia, and the world, for generations to come.

Sustainability Update May 2025

At Bega Group our ambition is great food for a Better future through our commitment to circularity, community and collaboration — from reducing waste and supporting farmers, to ethical sourcing and helping communities in need.

Right now, we’re facing challenges that many Australian businesses are experiencing. As more companies increase their use of recycled plastic, the available supply is becoming increasingly limited and significantly more expensive Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to reduce the percentage of recycled plastic used in some of our bottles, including flavoured milk, iced coffee, and juice impulse products. These bottles will still use recycled plastic, just not 100%.

Bega Group are still committed to working towards shared national sustainable packaging priorities and targets, for our brands and with our customers, and our commitment to sustainability is as strong as ever through our Better Future sustainability strategy:

  • We proudly support Aussie farmers through our Bega Better Farms Program with over $3 Million in grants awarded as at April 2025
  • $14million investment in sustainable packaging capability, allowing us to increase the % of recycled content we use in future
  • We’ve donated the equivalent of 2.35 million meals to Foodbank Australia in the past year.
  • 93% of our waste diverted from landfill.
  • 99% of our palm oil is responsibly sourced.
  • Over 70% of our coffee is Rainforest Alliance certified

Thank you for supporting us on this journey.
