Jemima Warnock – Payroll Services Officer Hear from Jemima Warnock, Payroll Services Officer, on the impact Inside First has had to her career I originally started my career with the Bega Group, seven and a half years ago as a Production worker! Since then I have had plenty of opportunities to grow my career here. After five years in operational roles, including as a Forklift Driver and as a Machine Operator I sought an opportunity to move into our payroll team. My most recent appointment, Payroll Services Officer, was through the Inside First Program. I have been supported during my transition into payroll by a formal mentoring program and I have found this experience invaluable in setting me up for success in my new role – every day is a learning opportunity. The Bega Group has supported my growth both through the various opportunities I’ve taken on but also through a range of other measures such as attending external payroll seminars, being mentored by my leaders and co-workers, travelling for team events, involvement with other People and Capability departments, completion of the Gallup Clifton Strengths profile, yearly goal setting, and input with projects. My current role in payroll is my favourite role so far. I love getting to work with people across the business, being faced with different challenges and learning something new every day. My advice for others wanting to grow their career at the Bega Group Don’t be afraid to reach out to those who can help get you where you want to go and express your interest. They might be able to provide support, advice, and guide you in the right direction. There are so many roles in a variety of departments that your career will never be stagnant at the Bega Group. I’d suggest being open to applying for opportunities that may seem beyond your experience and if unsuccessful, learn from the feedback provided. In my experience, if you are willing to explore opportunities and learn on the job, our leaders will provide support and advice to guide you in the right direction.
