Tim Tielen – Brand Manager (Dare)

Hear from Tim Tielen who has been with the Group for five years and in that time has moved through different roles and is currently our Dare Brand Manager.

My journey

Having grown up in the country, the Bega Group’s connection with farmers and their origins first attracted me to the business.

During my five years here, I have been lucky enough to have had access to multiple opportunities – first through the Graduate Program followed by an internal move into my current role.

I first started as a Sales and Marketing Graduate which allowed me to work across marketing, category and in the field. Following this I returned to Marketing as an Assistant Brand Manager looking after Nut Spreads and more recently, I moved into my current role as

Brand Manager – Dare. My current role has been my favourite to date as it has provided me with a wealth of learnings, as well as the opportunity to work on one of the biggest brands in the business.

The organisation has supported my growth not only through the Graduate Program and the ASPIRE Program but also providing the opportunity for me to transfer into the Dairy and Drinks side of the business. It’s these opportunities to develop and grow and the amazing people that keep me here day to day!

Inside First – The Bega Group always looks internally first when roles open up, demonstrating its focus on developing its people through providing opportunities to learn and grow internally rather than looking outside of the business.

The Culture – I would describe the culture at the Bega Group like being a part of a big family, with everyone supporting each other while we work towards a common purpose of Creating Great Food for a Better Future. This is further demonstrated by continuing to have farmers on our Board, ensuring we always remain connected with our origins.

The People – we are incredibly lucky to have great people and leaders here who encourage our development and make it a great place to work.

How I’d sum up the Bega Group

Passionate, Humble, Australian – These words reflect our ambition and drive to become The Great Australian Food Company while also reflecting that we do so with the humility and passion of the farmers who originally founded the Bega Co-op.

Having the opportunity to contribute to the business becoming The Great Australia Food Company is a key part of what keeps me here day to day. For me, our purpose means getting the opportunity to provide Australians and those nearest and dearest to me with the food that is not only good for them but also good for Australian farmers and businesses.
